Social Communications appoints ex-BBC newsreader as account director

Manchester-based agency Social Communications has appointed Ray Sadri, a former BBC newsreader, as account director to work out of its London office.

With 11 years of government press office and broadcast journalism experience, Sadri will be responsible for boosting client communications and media profiles, as well as helping to grow and lead the London team.

Sadri joins the agency from the Department for Transport, where he led its aviation, roads, and technology press desks. He was previously a newsreader and current affairs reporter on the BBC and commercial radio.

Ben Ruse, London managing director at Social Communications, said: “Ray will be a great addition as we grow our London team, and his wealth of experience will be invaluable as we move further into the transport and major infrastructure sphere.”

Sadri added: “I’m excited to be joining and helping grow the dynamic and punchy Social Communications team in London.

“They work on some interesting and topical projects in the world of transport, housing and infrastructure, all of which help benefit society in some way – be it improving the lives of people, empowering communities or driving up consumer standards.”
